One area of Disney World that some people never get to see or even know about is Disney’s Boardwalk. This is a great place to check out and it is FREE (no admission or parking fee). The trick is getting there. If you are staying at a Disney resort they do not offer direct transportation to the Boardwalk. Instead you need to go to Downtown Disney first and then grab a bus to the Boardwalk. Also, there is a footpath that connects Epcot to the Boardwalk which is located just after the United Kingdom. When we go to Epcot we always take a walk down to the Boardwalk to check things out. There is lots of shops, restaurants and entertainment to see – click below for more info:
If you are driving to Disney (or you are renting a car) the best way to find the Boardwalk is to follow the signs to Epcot. When you get close to Epcot you will see signs for the Boardwalk and there is plenty of free parking for non-resort guests. There are rooms and suites at the Boardwalk but they are expensive so we have never stayed there.
One place to check out while you are there is the ESPN Zone. You never know who you are going to see there. One year while my wife and I were eating there we were lucky enough to meet retired Boston Bruin legend Phil Esposito. I still have the autographed ESPN coaster!
