If you are planning a Disney vacation and have kids (10 and under) then you should consider staying at a Disney resort. There is so much for the kids to do and Disney really works hard to make everyone’s stay as magical as possible. While there are over 20 Disney resorts to choose from we would recommend that you take a look at the All Star Resorts or the Art of Animation Resort.
All Star Resorts – There are three of these resorts that offer three different kinds of theming (Sports, Music or Movies). We especially love the All Star Movies Resort. The theming is based on several different Disney films (Fantasia, 101 Dalmatians, Toy Story) and offer tons for the kiddos to do. These are considered a ‘value’ resort by Disney and I have seen them priced as low as $89 per night (during off-peak seasons). There are also times when Disney offers special promotions like book 4 nights and get 3 free. You can see what is currently being offered here.
Art of Animation – Another resort we recommend if you are traveling with young kids is the Art of Animation. There are two areas of this resort – one is priced as a ‘value’ resort and has standard rooms while the other areas are 1 bedroom family suites. This is Disney’s newest resort (opened fall 2012) and the theming is AMAZING! The themes include Cars Radiator Springs, Finding Nemo, The Lion King and the Little Mermaid. It has a fantastic pool with lots of activities for the kids. There is also a foot-bridge that leads to the Pop Century Resort so you can explore that resort as well. We stayed at this resort last December (in a Nemo Suite) and it was a great experience – highly recommended!
